It’s the last weekend of school holidays!
I was talking to Adrian today and he said that apparently we start school on Monday. Damn. No extra day off. Less than 48 hours till I officially start year 11. I’m nervous, but excited. I’m looking forward to seeing my friends more though. I mean, school holidays are great and all, but like, I actually haven’t seen my friends that much compared to when I see them at school everyday.
Adrian and I just hung out at my house today with Grace. Dad had to go to Bunnings to get some stuff so we looked after her until he came back. I seriously don’t know what it is with Dad and Bunnings; it’s sooooo boring there! But Dad takes ages when he’s there because he gets all these ideas. Then he buys things that he doesn’t even need!
Like this one time, he came back with a chainsaw.
Except we don’t have any trees.
2 years later, he still hasn’t used it. Lol.
So yeah, I put ‘Matilda’ on for Grace and Adrian and I played some pool. I don’t think Adrian has ever beaten me at pool. Actually, no one has ever beaten me at pool. Except dad. Dad would be the ultimate opponent and if I could beat him? Well, I’d be pretty happy with myself! But for a 15 year old, I think I play really well. It definitely helps when I have someone to play against though… even if they are bad. Ok, Adrian isn’t that bad. He’s lucky that he gets to practice at my house. He’d be really bad if he didn’t.
Once we played like 5 games, we got bored so we just sat on the couch and talked. About nothing really. Just music, celebrities, and Disney. Then when dad got home, Adrian left. I won’t see him until Monday; he’s working his first shift tomorrow! It’s only for 4 hours, but it’s the quietest day of the week, so it will be easier to train him up compared to a Saturday.
Dad had to do the gardening, so I looked after Grace until he was finished. The movie was already over, so I played Barbies with her and then we played matching pairs. I started getting really frustrated – Grace is actually better than me at remembering where the pictures were. I felt so stupid. Like, I should have a better memory than her… right? Obviously not. But maybe I was just tired. I mean, I did get up at 9am. That’s pretty early for a Saturday.
Yeah. Let’s go with that.
The rest of the day was pretty lame, until I got on the net. I was downloading some songs and eating ice-cream when I realised that I wasn’t logged onto MSN, so I logged in. And guess what? Taj was on!
I didn’t have to wait very long for him to start chatting to me.
I decided to play dumb. Don’t ask me why.
Me: hi… who’s dis?
Taj: It’s Taj
Me: ohhh hey Taj howd u get my email addy?
Taj: Umm… remember when we got back from France? I asked you for your email address which you wrote on a lolly wrapper in the airport. Well, I kept it
Omg. I so do not remember doing that. But it was kind of flattering that he did…
Taj: Yeah. I know it sounds really creepy, but I was looking through all my French stuff after I saw you on Aus day, and I found the wrapper so I thought, why not? I really hope that’s ok? That I added you, I mean.
Me: yeah sure it’s ok wit me you coulda added me last yr tho u kno
Taj: I know… but there were some obstacles in the way. Namely my ex gf
Me: umm… ok…
Taj: It’s a long story. Needless to say, she’s my ex now. So, how are you? How have you been since Aus day?
Ok. This was just getting weirder and weirder. Flattering, but weird. I really wanted to ask about his ex-girlfriend. He never even mentioned he had a girlfriend when we were in France… and we had some pretty serious D&M’s while we were over there.
Me: ive bin gewd how bout u?
Taj: Yeah, good aswell. Can’t complain
Then the conversation stopped for about 15 minutes. I swear, it was the longest 15 mins of my life!
Taj: sorry, just had to do something for mum
Me: how is ur mum btw?
Yep. I know Taj’s mum. She was one of the chaperons on our French trip. Taj is like the spitting image of her lol.
Taj: She’s alright I think
Taj: So, how are you really? You seemed a bit shaken up when you guys left on Aus Day
Shaken up? That’s pretty perceptive of him. I guess it’s been in the back of my head for the past couple of days, but it hasn’t really traumatised me or anything…
Me: I’m ok. I havn’t rly given it a 2nd thought lol
Taj: I’ve been worried about how you’ve been all this time! Even I thought it was pretty scary and I’m a guy!
Me: aww dats sweet of u
Taj: well, that’s me happy to be your knight in shining armour
We talked for ages. Taj told me about how his Australia Day went after I left. He said it was ‘really boring’. Lol. His friends just wanted to sit down by the river for the rest of the night. Then, he said that his friends were hell shocked that he knew someone like me. I didn’t really understand what he meant, but then he said ‘someone as beautiful as you’.
Taj. Thinks. I’m. Beautiful!
Me. Hmm… yeah… nah. But I guess I’m not ugly lol. Then he said that his friends think he is ‘punching above his weight’, whatever that means. I need to Google that later. But aside from the obvious flirting, we had a really good chat. I told him I have work tomorrow morning so I had to go to sleep. I didn’t want to stop talking to him… he is really, really sweet.
I have to admit, it was really nice to know that someone’s been thinking about me. Even if it is Taj. I’m beginning to think that Jenny is right – maybe he does like me? I never really thought about him as being a boyfriend, let alone my boyfriend. NOT that I’m thinking about him as my boyfriend.
